Dugood Boundless CD Transport/DAC

The Dugood Boundless is a high-end Chinese designed and built CD transport and DAC in one package. A very versatile unit, it has two digital outputs (co-axial and BNC) and three digital inputs (co-axial, optical and BNC). It can be used as a straight CD player by connecting the transport outputs across to the DAC inputs. The DAC utilises 4 x PCM1702, an expensive, sonically impressive DAC chip used by Krell, Luxman, Accuphase and Wadia. The CD player employs Philips running gear (VAM 12.1) and has a nice bright display. Both DAC and transport have their own toroidal transformers and power supplies. The CD player part can be turned off when using just the DAC. There are excellent quality internals with fibreglass circuit boards and high-end Rubycon capacitors throughout. Audio outputs are unbalanced RCAs or true balanced professional three-pin connectors. There is also a headphone amplifier board with its own volume control.
